Aaron Samuel: Azerbaijan side unveils Super Eagles attacker

Azerbaijan side, FC Neftci has unveiled Nigeria’s senior national team forward, Aaron Samuel as the team prepares for their campaign in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season.
 
The central attacker signed a year deal with his new team and the 29-year-old will put on jersey number 25 at the club. Samuel has played in Nigeria for the likes of Shooting Stars Sports Club (2010-2011) and Dolphins (2011-2012) before moving abroad.
In diaspora, he has played for Volerenga (2012-2013), Norway’s Sarpsborg (2013-2014), Guancho City of China (2014-2017), Sichuan Longfor (2019), Changchun Yatay (2020), Russia’s CSKA Moscow (2016-2018), Amkar (2017-2018), Israel’s Baytar Jerusalem (2018-2019) and Turkey’s Erzurumspor (2021-2023).
 
In the 2015/2016 season, he became Russian champion with CSKA Moscow. Aaron became the eighth summer signing of  FC Neftci. At international level, he played seven games and scored two goals in Nigeria squad.
 
The team previously agreed with members of the Azerbaijan national team – goalkeeper Emil Balayev, Croatian-born midfielder Filip Ozobich, centre defenders – Brazilian Yuri Matias and Hungarian Mark Tamash, experienced midfielder Gara Garayev, right-wing defender Ervin Koffi and left winger Andre Shinyashiki.
