Nigerian forward, Abdullahi Tanko was on target as Banik Ostrava secured a 5-1 win against Zlin in a Czech Republic Fortuna Liga encounter on Saturday.

Banik Ostrava went into the contest on the back of three unbeaten streak and were eager to extend their fine run, which they eventually did in style, condemning their visitors to a third consecutive defeat.

Brazilian midfielder Ewerton opened the flood gategot on the end of a brilliant pass and scored a great goal after finding the back of the net by striking the ball past the goalkeeper.

Seven minutes before the break, the equaliser came calling as Dominik Simersky received a precise pass just outside the box and powered home a glorious strike into the right corner of the post.

The host went goal blazing in the second half starting by restoring their lead five minutes into the second period.

Filip Kubala received the ball inside the box, reacted quickly, and without any problem stabbed the ball inside the right post.

Seven minutes later, Tomas Rigo picked the ball from a rebound at the edge of the box and unleashed a low shot into the bottom right corner.
Matej Rakovan was unable to keep the ball out of the net.

In the 64th minute, Kubala scored again as latched onto a pass inside the penalty box and fired a perfect low strike that went inside the right post.

Eight minutes before full-time, Tanko had acres of space after latching on to a precise pass in the box.
He doesn’t hesitate to unleash a great effort into the top right corner.

The goal was his fourth in the league after nine games coupled with an assist.

Tanko saw 83 minutes of action before he was replaced by Jiri Klima.

His compatriot, David Fadairo was an unused substitute for Ostrava.

Ostrava occupy the seventh position on the table with 14 points after nine games ahead of their next game against Zapy in the MOL Cup on September 27.
