ADO Den Haag Confirms Groin Injury for Tyronne Ebuehi, Recovery Duration Remains Uncertain

In a setback for ADO Den Haag, Nigerian defender Tyronne Ebuehi sustained a groin injury during last weekend’s Eredivisie clash against NAC Breda, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com. The incident forced Ebuehi to make an early exit from the pitch, being substituted by Thijmen Gopel in the 67th minute at their home ground, Cars Jeans Stadion, where ADO Den Haag suffered a 2-0 defeat.

The club officially announced the injuries to three of their defenders from the encounter. A statement released on Tuesday via the ADO Den Haag official website revealed, “Three of our defenders sustained injuries in the home match against NAC Breda last Saturday: Tom Beugelsdijk, Tyronne Ebuehi, and Wilfried Kanon.”

While specifying the nature of the injuries, the statement continued, “Beugelsdijk has a hamstring injury, while Ebuehi and Kanon have groin problems.” The club confirmed that Beugelsdijk, after undergoing an MRI scan, has a tear in his hamstring and is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks. However, the recovery timeline for Ebuehi and Kanon remains undisclosed at this point.

Wilfried Kanon will miss the upcoming match against Excelsior due to a red card received in the NAC Breda encounter. Concerns loom over Ebuehi’s participation in Nigeria’s friendly matches against Poland and Serbia later this month, as he is among the 28 players selected by Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr. Ebuehi, set to join Portuguese giants Benfica this summer, has contributed significantly to ADO Den Haag this season, featuring in 26 league games. The club awaits further medical evaluations to determine the extent of Ebuehi’s absence and the subsequent impact on his international commitments.
