Afcon 2023: Enzo Maresca uncertain about Kelechi Iheanacho recovery timeline

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca is uncertain over the return of Kelechi Iheanacho from injury.

The Nigeria forward is racing against time to be fit for the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Providing update on the 27 year old injury, Maresca said he doesn’t know when the Super Eagles forward will likely return, insisting Iheanacho is still injured and not 100 percent match fit.

“I don’t know,” Maresca told the club official website.

“The only thing I can say is that Kel is still injured. It’s getting better but it’s still not 100 per cent, otherwise, he would be in the squad for tomorrow and he’s not in the squad.”

The Super Eagles have begun preparation for the AFCON by camping in Abu Dhabi.
