Ahmed Musa Contemplates January Exit from Leicester to Safeguard Super Eagles Place

Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa is contemplating a potential departure in the January transfer window, driven by the scarcity of regular playing time with the Foxes this season, as reported by a reliable source to Completesportsnigeria.com. The Nigerian winger has encountered limited opportunities on the field, featuring in only one Carabao Cup match against Sheffield United, and notably, failing to secure a spot in Leicester City’s match-day squad for any English Premier League fixture this season.
The trend, initiated under former manager Craig Shakespeare, has persisted with the current helmsman, Claude Puel, favoring alternatives such as Shinji Okazaki, Riyad Mahrez, and Kelechi Iheanacho over Musa. The 25-year-old, cognizant of the impending World Cup, is resolute in seeking active game time to cement his position in the Super Eagles squad.
“Musa is eager to play games actively to save his place in the Super Eagles World Cup squad,” revealed a source close to the player.
While Musa is presently channeling his efforts towards gaining favor under Leicester City’s new coach Claude Puel, Hull City and CSKA Moscow have emerged as prospective destinations should the Nigerian international opt for a January departure.
Musa, who joined Leicester City for €18m from CSKA Moscow last summer, has endured a subdued tenure with the Foxes, amassing six goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
