Akwa United captain Ubong Friday calls for togetherness against El Kanemi Warriors

Akwa United captain, Ubong Friday believes togetherness will push his side to this year’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six spot.
The Promise Keepers fell to a 1-0 defeat against the Remo Stars in Ikenne a week ago as the setback could ruin the former NPFL champions bid for a spot in the Super Six finals.
Deji Ayeni’s side will need to win their remaining two games to actualise that objective, beginning with El-Kanemi Warriors clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday.
And the team captain is upbeat that the unity in the locker room will help them bounce back to winning ways.
“We are united for a purpose no doubt about that,” Friday told Daily sports.
“We are working really hard to achieve our goal of the season which is the NPFL Super 6 qualification.
“We are almost there but with togetherness and understanding among us (players) we can return back to winning after our defeat against Remo Stars.”
