Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey Honour Mothers During International Women’s Day Celebration

Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey marked International Women’s Day with a special tribute as Fulham FC faced Southampton FC in the FA Cup.

The Nigeria national football team stars wore white Fulham tracksuits with their mothers’ names printed on the back, honouring the women who have supported them throughout their lives and football careers.

The initiative formed part of Fulham’s broader celebration of International Women’s Day, recognising the vital role women play both within football and in society.

Iwobi and Bassey proudly displayed their customised tracksuits before the match, using the occasion to pay tribute to their mothers and to acknowledge the impact of women who continue to inspire and guide future generations.
