Alex Iwobi urges Fulham teammates to stay positive after defeat to Wolves

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has urged his Fulham teammates and fans to not dwell on their disappointing 5-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The match saw Iwobi score a stunning, Puskas-worthy left-footed goal in the 20th minute, curling the ball into the top corner to give Fulham the lead.

However, Wolves mounted a comeback with goals from Matheus Cunha (who netted a brace), Joao Gomes, and Goncalo Guedes, sealing a dominant victory.

Despite the loss, Iwobi remains optimistic and encouraged his teammates to stay focused as Fulham prepares for their next Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

“That’s how goals quickly change games and give the other team the confidence to kick on,” the versatile midfielder told Fulham’s official website.

“Even though they scored, we need to keep the same composure and remain calm, no matter what. We struggled to dominate like we did, so credit to them, but we’re going to look at ourselves to improve.”
