By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria internationals Halimatu Ayinde and Anam Imo featured for reigning Swedish Damallsvenskan champions FC Rosengård, but their returns ended in a 1-0 defeat to Malmö FF on Friday.

The decisive moment came in the 86th minute, when Anna Plantin latched onto a pass from Natalie Hoff-Persson to score the winner for Malmö.

Ayinde, making her first appearance since winning the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with Super Falcons, played 66 minutes before being replaced by former Manchester City midfielder Aemu Oyama.

Imo, who recently returned to Rosengård from Piteå IF, started the match and made way for Isabella Tryggvadottir in the 85th minute.

The defeat leaves Rosengård seventh in the Damallsvenskan standings with 17 points from 13 games.

They will look to bounce back when they host Hammarby on August 12, 2025.
