Anthony Ujah bags brace in Braunschweig’s draw with Nurnberg

Nigeria forward, Anthony Ujah scored two goals in Braunschweig’s 2-2 draw with Nurnberg a second-tier German 2. Bundesliga encounter on Saturday.
The former Union Berlin forward opened the scoring for the host in the 29th minute off an assist from Anton-Leander Donkor at the Eintracht-Stadion, Braunschweig.
Irked by their early setback, Japanese forward, Kanji Okunuki equalised for the visitors nine minutes later.
Having set up Okunuki for the equaliser with his second assist of the day, Tim Handwerker assisted Benjamin Goller for Nurnberg’s second goal in the 40th minute.
After the break, Ujah salvaged a point for Braunschweig with his second goal of the contest in the 64th minute.
The 32-year-old forward was replaced by Turkish defender, Hasan Kurucay in the 95th minute and has now scored three goals with an assist for Braunschweig in the league this season after seven games.
With five points after seven games, Braunschweig occupy the 17th position on the 18-team league table.
The team will next face Hansa Rostock on September 30, 2023.
