Ashifat Suleiman unveiled as Kwara United technical adviser, sets sights on NPFL success

By Dayo Awoniyi

Kwara United Football Club has officially unveiled Coach Ashifat Suleiman as its new Technical Adviser for the remainder of the current season, with an option to extend his contract beyond the campaign.

The unveiling ceremony, held on Wednesday at the club’s office in Ilorin, was presided over by General Manager Mallam Bashir Badawiy, who represented Club Chairman Kumbi Titiloye.

In his remarks, Titiloye described Suleiman as a “familiar face deeply embedded in the club’s structure and philosophy,” emphasizing that his long association with the team has given him a deep understanding of its values and ambitions.

“His knowledge of our culture and his passion for the badge will guide him in this new role,” Titiloye said.

Speaking on behalf of the management, Badawiy likened football to “a breeze that can blow in any direction,” adding that the wind of opportunity has now blown in Suleiman’s favor.

He expressed confidence in the new Technical Adviser, noting the positive changes observed during his short time in interim charge.

“In just three games, Coach Suleiman has demonstrated great commitment and unity with the players. The management is fully behind him as we open another chapter in Kwara United’s story,” Badawiy stated.

In his acceptance speech, Coach Suleiman expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to justify the management’s confidence through dedication, teamwork, and results.

“I’m committed to building a team grounded in creativity, discipline, and possession-based football,” Suleiman said. “Our targets are clear—retain the Federation Cup and challenge strongly for the league title. With the support of our fans and management, we can achieve great things together.”

The appointment marks a new chapter for the Harmony Boys as they seek stability and renewed momentum in their domestic campaign under one of their own.
