Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala praised her teammates for their strong performance in securing a 1-1 draw against North Carolina.
Oshoala put Bay FC ahead with a goal in the 11th minute, but the hosts equalized through Ashley Sanchez in the 24th minute.
Oshoala, who celebrated her fifth goal of the season, expressed her satisfaction with both her performance and the team’s effort. She described the draw as a significant achievement, given the caliber of the opposition.
“It felt great, especially for the team. We put in a tremendous effort against a very tough side,” Oshoala said, as quoted by Bay FC. “North Carolina is a good team that plays excellent football, so getting a point here is a big deal for us.”
She added, “Considering this team is in the playoffs, every point is crucial at this stage. It was a solid outing for us both physically and mentally.”
Bay FC currently sits in eighth place in the NWSL standings with 25 points from 20 matches. They will face Orlando Pride on Saturday, September 21.
