Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala scored a goal and provided an assist as her Spanish Liga F side FC Barcelona earned a 4-0 win over Toni Payne’s Sevilla on Saturday.
The former Liverpool FC player scored the first goal of the match in the 11th minute from Claudia Pina’s assist.
Oshoala in the 33rd minute returned the favour as she assisted Pina for the Catalan side’s second goal.
Pina had the chance to increase Barcelona’s lead from the penalty spot but she missed the penalty in the additional minutes of the first half.
Second half brace from Selma Paralluelo increased Jonatan Giraldez’s side’s lead to 4-0.
Oshoala, who scored four goals in five UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) games this season, saw 76 minutes of action before she was replaced by Bruna Vilamala after scoring her fifth league goal in 12 games.
Sevilla’s Payne played the full 90 minutes for her side.
The win increased Barcelona’s winning streak in the league to 48 straight wins as the team attempt to become the first club (men or women) to win 50 straight league games.
The team’s last defeat was the last league game of the 2020/2021 season against Atletico Madrid.
