Six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala was on target, while compatriot Francisca Ordega registered an assist, but it was Al Ittihad (women) who claimed a convincing 3–1 victory over Al Hilal (women) in Sunday’s Saudi Women’s Premier League clash.
Introduced at the start of the second half, Oshoala injected urgency into Al Hilal’s attack and reduced the deficit in the 74th minute. The forward surged past her marker on a solo run before curling a composed right-footed finish beyond the goalkeeper.
The goal was her ninth in the league this season, along with two assists, taking her overall tally to 16 goals and three assists across all competitions.
However, Al Ittihad had already seized control of the contest. The visitors opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Leticia Nunes converted from Ordega’s perfectly weighted pass. Momentum shifted further in Ittihad’s favour in first-half stoppage time as Lamar Mohammed made it 2–0.
Mohammed struck again in the 64th minute to complete her brace and extend the advantage to three goals, effectively sealing the result despite Oshoala’s late response.
Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre was an unused substitute as Al Ittihad comfortably saw out the game.
The victory lifts Al Ittihad to second place on the table, while Al Hilal drop to fifth heading into the women’s international break.
