Asisat Oshoala’s Barcelona to face Italian side AS Roma in UWCL quarter-final

Asisat Oshoala and her Spanish Liga F side, FC Barcelona will face Italian league leaders in the quarter-final of the 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
During the draw ceremony conducted on Friday, the Catalan side will play AS Roma in the quarter-final.
The first leg of the last eight ties will take place on Tuesday, March 21 at the Stadio Olimpico, while the return leg is slated for Camp Nou on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
The draw also saw English side, Chelsea and holders, Lyon await the winner of the two-legged tie in the semi-final between AS Roma and Barcelona.
Oshoala will hope to help her team retain the league title and reclaim the UEFA Women’s Champions League crown they lost to Lyon for the season in 2021 final.
The Nigerian forward has scored four goals in five UEFA Women’s Champions League group games this season and currently the leading goal scorer with 17 goals in 17 games coupled with two assists.
The record five-time Africa Women Footballer of the Year remains the only African player to score in the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League and also win the title.
Meanwhile, German Bundesliga outfit, FC Bayern will face English Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Arsenal FC in another quarter-final clash and PSG (France) against Wolfsburg (Germany) complete the quarter-final pairing.
