Awaziem Expresses Desire to Extend Nantes Stay and Unveils New World Cup Dance

Nantes’ robust Nigerian defender, Chidozie Awaziem, has disclosed his eagerness to prolong his tenure at the French club beyond the summer. Having displayed unwavering prowess, Awaziem has become a defensive linchpin for Nantes in the ongoing Ligue 1 season, amassing 13 league appearances and contributing a goal, along with an assist.
In a recent Twitter question and answer session, the 20-year-old, who is on a season-long deal from FC Porto, expressed his affection for the fans and his desire to extend his stay with Nantes. Responding to inquiries about his future, Awaziem stated, “I will love to extend my stay here at Nantes because of the fans who have been faithful to me. My dream has always been to play for a top team in Europe, and I’m happy I started with one in Portugal.”
A regular in the Super Eagles squad, Awaziem also addressed his anticipation of making the final 23-man squad for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In a playful yet enthusiastic response, he declared, “I will dance. It’s the dream of every player, and I hope I get the chance.”
Additionally, Awaziem revealed his football idols and inspirations, citing Claude Makalele as his favorite club legend, while Diego Carlos and Sergio Ramos earned acclaim as his best club teammates and favorite player, respectively.
