Kano Pillars head coach Mohammed Babaganaru has described his team’s recent struggles in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as a “temporary setback,” vowing to turn their fortunes around despite their current challenges.
The Pyramid Boys were dealt a further blow with a 2-0 home defeat to Niger Tornadoes last Saturday, leaving them winless in their last three matches.
The loss compounds the issues facing the club, which is still playing its home games at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina due to a banishment from their traditional home ground.
Currently bottom of the NPFL table with just five points from ten matches, Pillars’ difficulties have been mounting both on and off the pitch.
However, Babaganaru, who recently rejoined the club for a record second stint, remains optimistic about their prospects.
“It was a very disappointing result, and it is something I never expected,” Babaganaru told NPFL Live.
“We will still remain focused and see how we can take the team out of this situation.”
“I see it as a temporary setback, and I am sure we will come out of it.”
Despite their current predicament, Babaganaru has reassured fans and players alike that he has the experience and leadership to guide the club back to form.
Kano Pillars will have an opportunity to bounce back in their next fixture against Enyimba FC on Sunday in Aba, a crucial Matchday 11 encounter that could be pivotal for their survival in the league.
