Nigeria winger Blessing Nkor scored three goals to help her Tanzanian women’s league side, Yanga Princess to a 5-0 bashing of The Niger Queens in a league encounter on Tuesday.
The host started the match with three Nigerian players – Mary Saiki, Chioma Wogu, and Nkor in the starting lineup while one – Precious Christopher was on the bench.
Nkor opened the scoring for Sebastian Nkoma’s side in the 17th minute at Uhuru, Dar es Salaam before former Minsk FK and Edo Queens star Wogu doubled the lead Yanga Princess before the half-hour mark in the 29th minute.
The hosts went into the locker room with a two-goal lead and came alive two minutes into the second half as Fredrick Masombola’s side conceded once again courtesy of Atanhloueto Nadege’s effort for Yanga’s third goal of the match.
The former Ibom Angels player bagged her brace in the 50th minute and completed her hat trick in the 90th minute and was presented with a match ball for scoring a hat trick at the end of the match by referee Sikundhani Humbi.
Nkor played for Ibom Angels and Sunshine Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership before completing her switch to Yanga Princess in 2022 summer.
After its fifth win of the campaign, Yanga Princess moved to the top of 2022/2023 Serengeti Lite Women’s Premier League with 17 points after eight games, the same points as JKT Queens which have a game in hand on Wednesday against Fountain Gate Princess.
