Boavista confirm Bruno Onyemaechi call up for Nigeria’s AFCON qualifier

Head coach of the Nigeria national team, Jose Peseiro, has handed Boavista defender, Bruno Onyemaechi his second national call-up for Nigeria’s double-header, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
The development was confirmed by the Portuguese side as European various clubs have started to announce international players invited from their teams.
The 23-year-old has been a revelation for the top-division side since his loan move from Portuguese side Feirense and has been tipped to make the 800,000 Euros permanent switch owing to an impressive spell so far.
Bruno earned his first call up in Nigeria’s friendly match against Portugal but was an unused substitute in the match. He now stand a chance to finally make his debut following an injury to William Troost-Ekong.
The official list of players invited is expected to be made public by the NFF later this week with invitation letters already sent out to the 25 players called up by head coach Jose Peseiro.
