Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning German Bundesliga champions, are reportedly planning to offer Nigerian striker Victor Boniface a new, bumper contract.
This move comes as the club looks to secure Boniface’s long-term future amidst growing interest from some of Europe’s top football clubs.
Boniface’s current contract with the club is set to run until 2028, but Bayer Leverkusen are keen to extend it by an additional year, signaling their commitment to the Super Eagles forward.
According to BILD, the club is eager to ensure that Boniface remains at the heart of their attacking setup for years to come.
The 20-year-old has been in sensational form since joining from Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise last summer, scoring an impressive 20 goals in 33 league appearances.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Premier League giants like Manchester United rumored to be eyeing a move for the Nigerian forward.
However, despite the growing interest from other clubs, Boniface has made it clear that he is not considering a departure from Leverkusen. His strong relationship with the club’s manager, Xabi Alonso, has played a crucial role in his decision to remain committed to the Bundesliga side.
With his future looking bright at Leverkusen, Boniface’s potential contract extension reflects the club’s desire to build on their success and keep one of their key talents for the long haul.
