Belgian Jupiler League champions, Club Brugge, are reportedly eyeing a move to sign Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu from Southampton during the upcoming January transfer window.
According to Voetbalkrant, Club Brugge are looking to secure the 30-year-old’s services on a permanent deal.
Onuachu, who previously enjoyed a highly successful five-season stint with Club Brugge’s rivals KRC Genk, scoring 85 goals in 134 appearances, could be returning to Belgium after a challenging spell in England.
Onuachu joined Southampton in January 2023, but his time with the Saints has been far from smooth.
The tall striker has struggled for regular first-team football and was loaned out to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor for the 2023-24 season.
Despite his time in Turkey, Southampton is reportedly reluctant to sell Onuachu outright, though the possibility of a permanent departure remains likely when the transfer window reopens in January.
As Club Brugge seeks to bolster their attack, Onuachu’s potential return to Belgium would mark a new chapter for the Super Eagles forward, whose future at Southampton remains uncertain.
