CAF Champions League: Remo Stars to face AS FAR for second time

For the second time in three continental engagements, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars will face Moroccan opposition, AS FAR in the CAF Champions League first Preliminary Round.

The two teams met in the Preliminary Round of the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup with the Moroccan military team securing a 2-1 win on aggregate.

The first leg in Morocco ended in a 1-1 draw while the North Africans won the return leg 1-0 in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.

This will be the third consecutive time that the Sky Blue Stars will qualify for the CAF Inter-Club competitions.

Nigeria league winners, Rangers International FC will face UZ Zilimadjou from Comoros Island in the first Preliminary Round of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League.

The first leg of the Preliminary Round will take place from August 16 to 18, 2024.

The second leg has been scheduled for August 23 to 25, 2024.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side qualified for the CAF Champions League after claiming the NPFL title ahead of Remo Stars which finished second.
