CAF Club draw: Nigeria quartet to know first round opponents on Tuesday

Reigning Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL champions, Enyimba FC and the trio of Remo Stars, Rivers United and Insurance FC will be finding out their opponents for the first round of CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup when the draws take place on Tuesday in Cairo.
The draws will herald the start of 2023/2024 continental club engagements as participating teams will be hoping to better their previous performances.
The preliminary stages draw will be conducted at 1400 Cairo time (1100 GMT) at the CAF Headquarters starting with the Confederation Cup and followed closely by the Champions League which will be telecast live across all CAF TV Partners, CAF official website and Confederation’s YouTube Channel, CAF TV.
Enyimba FC and Remo Stars will be 52 other clubs from 42 Member Associations in this season’s CAF Champions League, while 2023 Nigeria Federation Cup, Insurance FC and Rivers United will be joining 50 other clubs from 41 Member Associations for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Al Ahly of Egypt are the reigning champions of the CAF Champions League after their hatd earned victory over Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca.
Also USM Alger of Algeria hold the CAF Confederation Cup title after overcoming Tanzania’s Young Africans in one of the tournament’s most memorable finals.
This years CAF club competitions is expected to attract more viewership and attention as the Africa’s football ruling body have increased investment in broadcast technology and global marketing engagement across its competitions.
