CAF picks Nigerian referee among Caf Women’s Champions League match officials

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the selection of Nigerian top referee, Patience Ndidi Madu among the match officials for the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
On Monday, CAF released the list of officials to take charge of the second edition of the women’s champions league after the inaugural edition which was won by South Africa’s Memelodi Sundowns.
Madu, a FIFA badged reference is listed among 10 centre referees, 12 assistant referees and 7 video assistant referees.
Ndidi was in action at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations which was held in Morocco. She was also at the recent Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where she was a fourth official.
Madu’s profile is rising on the international and local scene and she was the centre referee when Bayelsa United beat Nasarawa United to lift the 2021 Aiteo Cup.
Nigerian and WAFU-B champions, Bayelsa Queens will represent Nigeria in the competition which begins on October 30 and ends on November 13th 2022.
Ndidi was trained by CAF prior to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and her has become a regular name on CAF’s list for women’s games or tournaments.
