Amidst a jam-packed 2024 football schedule, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is poised to unveil pivotal decisions regarding tournament timelines this Friday.
Taking the helm, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe will preside over a consequential CAF Executive Committee (“EXCO”) gathering on April 19, 2024, in Rabat, Morocco.
The backdrop for this critical summit is none other than the esteemed Headquarters of the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF).
Set to commence at 11:00 local time (10:00 GMT and 12:00 Cairo time), the agenda bears significant weight, notably concerning the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) slated for Morocco. Speculation abounds regarding a potential postponement to 2025.
Adding to the intrigue, Morocco’s hosting of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2025 faces scrutiny. Against this backdrop, CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, reflecting on discussions during the last AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, emphasized meticulous consideration of the FIFA calendar.
As anticipation swells among football enthusiasts, the eyes of the continent turn towards CAF’s corridors of power, awaiting the decisive pronouncements from Africa’s football governance entity.
