Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, voiced his disappointment and sorrow regarding Arsenal FC’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the English Premier League (EPL) last Sunday.

Aston Villa secured the victory with two late goals from Leon Bailey and Ollie Watkins, sealing the fate of the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Bailey’s breakthrough in the 84th minute shattered the deadlock, leaving Arsenal supporters stunned.

Just three minutes later, Watkins further dashed their hopes by doubling Aston Villa’s lead, sending a hush over the Emirates Stadium.

Atiku, the former Governor of Adamawa State, took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to share his perspective on the match.

Despite the setback, he emphasized that Arsenal’s pursuit of the English Premier League title is far from over.

In a message directed at @HHMustaphaAA, he humorously advised against premature celebrations, signaling his continued faith in Arsenal’s prospects.

The defeat propelled Manchester City into a two-point lead over the chasing pack, comprising Arsenal and Liverpool, with only six games remaining in the season.

As Arsenal strives for their first EPL title since 2003, each match becomes increasingly crucial in their quest for success.
