Calvin Bassey showers praise on Mohammed Kudu after Ghana’s World Cup exploits

Nigeria defender, Calvin Bassey has showered praises and encomiums on his Ajax teammate and Ghana midfielder, Mohammed Kudus following his exploits with the Black Stars in Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Kudus put up a man-of-the-match performance for Ghana as he scored two goals which helped the West African side to a 3-2 win against South Korea in their second group match on Monday.

And the Super Eagles fullback Bassey took to social media to heap praises on his club teammate, Kudus.

“Star boy. He is on fire. Good player. Crazy, right? I am happy for him.” Bassey said in a video posted on Ajax’s Twitter handle.

Mohammed doubled the Ghanaian lead in the 34th minute as he headed his side into a two-goal lead after Mohammed Salisu’s opener for the Black Stars.

Cho Gue-Sung also headed in two goals for South Korea to even the scoreline before Kudus scored his second goal of the match to win the game for Ghana.

The win ended Ghana’s five-game winless run in FIFA World Cup games. Portugal tops Group H with a maximum of six points, three points ahead of Ghana with South Korea and Uruguay having a point apiece.

In a repeat of the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-final, Ghana will face Uruguay on Friday at the Al Janoub Stadium, Al Wakrah.
