By Monsurah Olatunji

Following the completion of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League draws, Union Berlin’s technical director, Michael Parensen has revealed that his side is not scared to face Victor Osimhen.
The German side were drawn in Group C where they will face the Italian Giants, Napoli. The group contains 14-time UEFA Champions League winners – Real Madrid, Scudetto winners – Napoli, and Portuguese side – SC Braga.
German side Union Berlin finished fourth in the last Bundesliga to make European history. Sheraldo Becker, with 12 goals, was the top scorer last season for Urs Fischer’s side.
When the 37-year-old was asked about the potential threat Osimhen possesses and if he is scared of the Nigerian.
“Not scared. I think, of course, he’s a very good player who has scored a lot of goals and we’re not scared of him,” Parensen told Omasports.
“We will try to do our best to stop him. To stop him will be hard. We know this, but we will try.”
However, the former Awoniyi’s club who will be making their debut in the competition will come up against one of the most in-form goal scorers, Osimhen in the group stage of this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Union’s story has been nothing short of remarkable, from fans helping out to freely reconstruct their stadium to the German top-flight, to the UEFA Europa League and for the first time in the club’s history, the UEFA Champions League.
