CHAN 2024 Qualifiers: Didi Dramani eyes another Ghana upset on Nigeria

By Wale Mustapha

Head coach of Ghana’s Black Galaxies, Masud Didi Dramani, has declared his team’s readiness to qualify for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) at the expense of Nigeria.

The two West African rivals are set to meet in the final round of qualifiers this month.

The first leg will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the return fixture scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo a week later.

Dramani acknowledged the challenge ahead but emphasized that his team is well-prepared for the task of overcoming the Super Eagles.

“In football, when you want to get to the top, you should be ready to meet the top liners. For me, it was not surprising that we were meeting Nigeria, and we are well in tune for the two games,” Dramani said in an interview with Ghana Guardian.

Ghana’s Black Galaxies famously stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the last edition of the tournament, and Dramani is keen to repeat the feat, bolstering the team’s confidence ahead of the crucial fixtures.
