Chiamaka Nnadozie tops Nigeria contenders as CAF releases women’s finalists for awards

Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made the finalists of CAF Women’s Player of the Year ahead of the 2024 CAF Awards.

The Paris FC goalkeeper made the list of finalists released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday.

Nnadozie will contest with Barbra Banda (Zambia) and Sanaa Mssoudy (Morocco) for the top prize.

She will also be in contention for the Goalkeeper of the Year award alongside Khadija Er-Ermichi (Morocco) and Andile Dlamini (South Africa).

Meanwhile, Rivers Angels player Chiamaka Okwuchukwu also got the nod in the Young Player of the Year category.

Habiba Sabry (Egypt) and Doha El Madani (Morocco) are the other finalists.

Moreover, NWFL Premiership champions Edo Queens will battle it out for the women’s club of the year with Champions League winners, TP Mazembe (Democratic Republic of Congo) and AS FAR FC (Morocco).

Finally, Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, Super Falcons also got the final list of women’s national team of the year alongside Morocco and South Africa.

Winners of the award will emerge on December 16 in Morocco.
