Chinwendu Ihezuo scores as Monterrey silence Tigres

Nigerian forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo scored her fourth goal of the league campaign as Monterrey beat UANL Tigres 3-1 in a Mexican Liga MX encounter on Friday.
The host (Tigres) broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute thanks to a goal by Belen Cruz.
The visitors, however responded with the equaliser three minutes into the second half.
South African midfielder, Jermaine Seoposenwe equalised to even the scoreline before Ihezuo gave her side the lead for the first time in the 85th minute.
In the additional minutes of the second half, Christina Burkenroad put the hosts out of sight to wrap up the triumph.
Ihezuo who came in as a replacement Mariana Cadena in the 80th minute before scoring her fourth goal of the campaign.
Monterrey moved to the fourth position on the log with 35 points after 16 games.
The team will end their 2023 Mexican Liga MX campaign against Club America on November 4.
