West Bromwich Albion’s caretaker manager, Chris Brunt, has expressed his disappointment over the injury setback to striker Josh Maja, who will be sidelined for several weeks due to a lower leg injury sustained last weekend.
Brunt emphasized that Maja’s impact goes beyond his goal-scoring ability, stressing his overall contribution to the team’s play.
“It’s not just his goals, it’s his overall play too,” Brunt told BBC Radio WM.
“After missing last year with two bad ankle injuries, he’s been in great form for us this season. It’s been well documented that we haven’t scored enough goals this season anyway, and to be without him now is a massive blow.”
Maja has been in excellent form this season, scoring 12 league goals for the Baggies, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt as West Brom look to maintain their momentum in the league.
