Chuba Akpom’s stint at Lille ends, club wishes Nigerian striker well

By Dayo Awoniyi

LOSC Lille has officially confirmed the departure of Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom following the conclusion of the 2024/2025 French Ligue 1 season.

Akpom, who joined the French club on loan from Ajax Amsterdam during the winter transfer window, struggled to make a lasting impact due to a combination of injuries and inconsistent form.

The striker managed to score 3 goals in 14 appearances for Lille.

In a statement released by the club, LOSC expressed gratitude for Akpom’s contributions.

“As our paths separate, LOSC thanks these players for their contributions throughout their Lille adventure and wishes them the best for the rest of their careers.

“Good luck, gentlemen! You will always have your place in the great LOSC house.”

Akpom now looks ahead to the next chapter in his career after his brief tenure in France.
