Nigeria U-20 girls are set to depart the country for Colombia, the venue of this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, on August 18.

According to Nigerian online tabloid, www.bsnsports.com.ng confirmed this after the team’s latest friendly match on Tuesday.

The two-time finalist is expected to play some friendly matches in Colombia upon arrival.

The West Africans thrashed Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship side, Honey Badgers 6-0 on Tuesday.

In Group D at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria will face Germany which the team lost two final matches against.

They will also meet Venezuela and the Korean Republic in the same group.

Cameroon, Morocco, and Ghana are the other African representatives at the tournament.

For the first time, 24 teams will jostle for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title in Colombia.
