Daniel Akanbek: Ghanaian midfielder extends Remo Stars deal

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit, Remo Stars have announced that Daniel Akanbek has signed a new contract extension with the Stars.

The Ghanaian put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Sky Blue Stars ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The 2023/2024 campaign was his first season with the Ikenne-Remo-based side as he played three league games.

Before relocating to Nigeria, Akanbek played for Berekum Chelsea in his country.

His first Nigerian team was Katsina United before joining Daniel Ogunmodede’s side for the 2023/2024 season.

Akanbek, who operates as a midfielder has a great chunk of experience under his belt, having had stints with Ghana’s top club Berekum Chelsea and Nations FC, and Nigeria’s Katsina FC.

His move to Katsina United from Nations FC was a free transfer despite his impact with the Ghanaian side.

Akanbek despite battling with a series of injuries featured for the Eagles on sixteen occasions in the Division One League with two goals and eight assists to help the team clinch the league title at the end of the 2022/2023 season and also played a part in other competitions including the MTN FA Cup.

He extended his contract with Remo Stars a day after Togolese player, Franck Mawuena Koffi put pen to paper on another contract extension with the same team.
