Daniel Ogunmodede reveals secret of Remo Stars dominance over Shooting Stars

Remo Stars head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede has revealed the secret to holding their own against Shooting Stars.

The Sky Blue Stars have remained undefeated in the last three South West derbies and the recent result is the 3-0 thumping of 3SC at the Naija Super Eight Playoffs at Eket stadium.

The tactician, who previously served as an assistant to erstwhile coach Gbenga Ogunbote opened up about his knowledge on the former boss’ weaknesses.

“As regards the issue of dominance over 3SC, I have taken my time to study coach Ogunbote a lot, maybe that is the secret,” Ogunmodede told Brace Radio.

“You know sitting down to study someone that is a mentor and a father figure in the game, I have always been working on that.”

After sealing a NPL return for Remo Stars in 2021, Ogunmodede proceeded to enhance his coaching career in Portugal before returning last summer to take charge of the club.

He replaced the veteran Ogunbote at the Sky Blue Stars and since then, he has taken the club to an extra height as they finished in second place at the end of the NPL season to qualify for the CAF Champions League.

The Sky Blue Stars have qualified for the proper Naija Super Eight tournament that will hold at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena after eliminating Shooting Stars at the playoffs.
