Ebere Orji scores as Sundsvall thrash Gamla Upsala

Nigerian midfielder, Ebere Orji was part of the goal scorers as her Swedish Elitettan side, Sundsvall return to winning ways with a 4-0 thumping of Gamla Upsala.

Sundsvall had lost its previous two goals before Saturday’s clash to Mallbackens (5-1) and Uppsala (4-0).

The bad fortune was to change when Ida Akerlund opened the scoring for the host in the fourth minute.

Ten minutes later, Finland defender, Juulia Gronlund doubled Sundsvall league before Alva Eriksson made it 3-0 in the 24th minute.

Ebere Orji scored the only goal recorded in the second half in the 52nd minute and the goal was her ninth league goal in 25 games this season.

The former Linkopings player saw 82 minutes of action before she was replaced by Sweden midfielder, Tilda Warulf.

Sundsvall with the win occupy the tenth position with 24 points from 25 games and can no longer gain promotion to top flight Swedish Allsvenskan.

The team will round up its league campaign for the season with a clash against Ravasens IK on November 5, 2022.
