Edna Imade and Gift Monday on target as Granada edge Tenerife in league clash

Nigeria duo Edna Imade and Gift Monday scored for either side as Granada pipped Costa Adeje Tenerife 2-1 in their latest Spanish Liga F women’s league encounter on Saturday.

Imade scored her 11th goal in the league in the 39th minute to break the deadlock for the host from Ariadna Mingueza’s assist at the Ciudad Deportiva del Granada.

Mingueza doubled the lead for Granada five minutes into the second half to make the tie a daunting one for the visitors.

With Granada coasting home with a win, Monday reduced the deficit for the travelers in the 90th minute from Maria Perez’s assist.

The former FC Robo Queens captain played the duration of the game as she scored her seventh goal in the league.

She has also provided two assists after 13 league games.

Her compatriot, Rinsola Babajide was replaced by Linnea Laupstad in the 59th minute.

Imade also played full 90 minutes for Granada which leapfrogged Tenerife to the sixth position on the log with 22 points after 15 games.

They will visit Eibar in their next league game on January 25, 2025.

Costa Adeje Tenerife occupy the seventh position with 20 points ahead of their next home match against Madrid CFF on January 25.
