Edna Imade inspires Granada to victory over Espanyol

Nigeria eligible forward, Edna Imade continued her goal scoring form in the Spanish Liga F women with a goal as her side, Granada edged Espanyol 2-1 on Sunday.

Espanyol opened scoring with a piece of brilliance from Lice Fabiana Chamorro Gomez who superbly turned to fire a long range strike into the net in the half hour mark.

Imade had the chance to level matters from the penalty spot after a hand ball inside the box.

Unfortunately she missed the penalty kick after trying to deceive the goalkeeper and was yellow carded in the additional minutes of the first half.

She redeemed herself in the 65th minute with a first time shot which find the back of the net for the equaliser.

Ariadna Mingueza scored the winner for Granada two minutes later.

Imade was replaced by Ornella Vignola in the 82nd minute after scoring her 12th goal in 19 league games.

Granada occupy the seventh position with 30 points after 19 games.

They will visit Real Betis after the international break on March 1, 2025.
