Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance retain Edo State FA Cup titles

Top-flight sides Edo Queens and Bendel Insurance both retained the 2025 Edo State FA Cup titles on Sunday.

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership champions Edo Queens, defeated second-tier side Fortress Ladies 3-0 to retain the title.

A brace from Mary Mamudu and a goal by Goodness Osigwe ensured that Moses Aduku’s side successfully defended their trophy.

Champions Edo Queens got 750,000 Naira as a cash prize from tournament sponsor Peculiar Ultimate Concern.

Runners up, Fortress Ladies smiled home with 500,000 Naira, while Bravehearts Ladies, which finished third, got 300,000 Naira alongside a set of jerseys to the semifinalists.

Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance won the men’s version of the Edo State FA Cup.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side secured a 2-0 win against BJ Foundation.

James Oronsaye and Zaidu Ayuba found the back of the net for the Benin Arsenals.

Edo Queens, Fortress Ladies, Bendel Insurance, and BJ Foundation will represent the state at the 2025 President Federation Cup.
