Egypt 2023 U20 Afcon: Flying Eagles eager to conquer Africa, says coach Ladan Bosso

Nigeria’s U20 national team head coach, Ladan Bosso has reinstated the ambition of his side as they intensify preparations ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Bosso’s boys are unbeaten in seven friendlies since they set up camp in Abuja, including the latest 1-1 draw with Nasarawa United which follows up a 2-0 win over Wikki Tourists at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja.

“With the support of the stakeholders, we hope to win the AFCON just like the WAFU,” Bosso told reporters.

“We have three friendlies with NPFL clubs before embarking on Christmas break,” he concluded.

The seven-time champions and 11 other countries will compete for honors at the competition which will be hosted by Egypt from February 18 to March 12.

The qualified countries are hosts Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, The Gambia, Uganda, South Sudan, Mozambique, Zambia, Central African Republic and Congo.

The Flying Eagles qualified for the competition after winning the WAFU-B U-20 Championship in May and will know their group-stage opponents on December 23.
