Ekenedilichukwu Ekeh pleased to have ‘big plus’ Godwin Obaje back for Rangers

By Wale Mustapha

Enugu Rangers’ head coach, Ekenedilichukwu Ekeh, has expressed his delight at the return of star striker Godwin Obaje, hailing the player’s comeback as a major boost to the team’s attacking options.

Obaje had been sidelined for five weeks due to a serious injury, leaving Rangers struggling to convert their chances in his absence.

However, the striker made a long-awaited return to the starting lineup in last Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Shooting Stars in Enugu. The match saw Chidozie Iwundu score the only goal to secure all three points for the Flying Antelopes.

Ekeh was quick to stress the significance of Obaje’s return, noting that the experienced forward adds both power and precision to the attack.

“Obaje is a big player for us. Having him back is a huge plus,” Ekeh told the club’s official media outlet.

“We had specific reasons for signing him, and he is proving his worth. We are happy to have him back, and he’s doing exactly what we expect from him as a Rangers player.”

With Obaje now fit and firing, Rangers will be hoping his presence can help turn their fortunes around as they continue their pursuit of success in the NPFL.
