The Ekiti State Government have unveiled their new coaches for two state-owned teams, Ekiti United and Queens ahead of preparation for the coming Nigerian leagues season.
Akin Olowookere and Jacob Vandi were announced recently as the head coach of Ekiti United and Queens respectively and had now been unvieled at a media parley supervised by the Commissioner of Finance, Akin Oyebode, and Dr Mrs Olusola Osetoba on Monday.
Olowookere will take charge of Nigeria National League side after his experience with the neighboring side, Sunshine Stars of Akure, Ondo state.
Vandi, on the other hand, will guide Ekiti Queens to their second season in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership after surviving relegation in their maiden season.
He has worked with the two teams from Adamawa State, Adamawa United, and Queens, playing a crucial role in returning the women’s team to the top flight and sustaining their status.
With Ekiti United eyeing promotion to the men’s top flight, the women’s team will hope to stabilize in the NWFL Premiership under Vandi.
