Elkanemi Warriors are back in Nigeria Premier Football League to stay – Aliyu Zubair

By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors, Aliyu Zubair, has assured fans that the club will maintain their status in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this time around.
The Desert Scorpions confirmed their return to the top flight on Wednesday with a commanding 4-1 comeback win over Sokoto United in the promotional playoffs held in Enugu.
A delighted Zubair emphasized that this achievement vindicates his bold decision to leave an NPFL club at the start of the current season.
“After leaving a Nigeria Premier Football League side, Gombe United, to take a National League side, my promise to take El-Kanemi Warriors back to the top flight is realized,” Zubair stated in a post-match interview.
“El-Kanemi Warriors will stabilize in the NPFL next season, I can assure you of that.”
El-Kanemi Warriors suffered relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season, making their immediate return to the NPFL a significant accomplishment.
