EPL: Alex Iwobi dreams European qualification with Fulham this season

By Wale Mustapha

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi has set his sights on helping Fulham qualify for European competition as the 2025/26 English Premier League (EPL) season gets underway.

The 28-year-old believes Fulham are capable of building on last season’s performance, where they recorded their highest-ever points tally in the Premier League but narrowly missed out on a European spot.

Marco Silva’s men also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they were eliminated by eventual winners Crystal Palace.

Speaking to Standard Sport, Iwobi expressed optimism about Fulham’s prospects and his personal ambition to return to continental competition.

“Everyone wants to play in Europe. I have played in Europe before – I want a taste of it again,” the former Arsenal midfielder said.

Iwobi previously featured in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League during his time at the North London club.

Fulham begin their 2025/26 Premier League campaign with an away fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
