EPL: “I think we deserved more” – Calvin Bassey reacts to Fulham draw at Tottenham

By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey believes Fulham were unlucky to settle for a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in their English Premier League clash on Sunday.

The Cottagers created several scoring opportunities that could have seen them secure all three points, but they were unable to convert their chances.

On the other hand, Spurs capitalized on their numerical advantage after Fulham were reduced to 10 men, but could not fully take control of the game.

Bassey, who played the entire match, felt the result was unjust for his team but praised his teammates for their resilience throughout the contest.

“I think we deserved more. Fraser Forster [Tottenham’s goalkeeper] made some incredible saves—three that could have been goals,” Bassey said in a post-match interview.

“We were a bit unlucky, especially with the red card when we had momentum.”

He added, “But on the bright side, we managed the game well and didn’t concede late, which has been an issue in past matches.”

Despite the draw, Fulham’s performance showed promise, and they will look to build on their resilience in upcoming matches.
