Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi make a remarkable return from long injury layoff on Tuesday during Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 Premier League home defeat against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Super Eagles forward who has been ruled out of action for six weeks was a second half substitute in the encounter at the City Ground.
He also made a huge statement by finding back of the net halving the deficit after Arsenal were already leading by 2-0 thanks to goal from Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.
Awoniyi missed out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON tournament due the injury.
Forest manager, Nuno Esprito Santos will be delighted to have his striker who has now scored five goals with two assists in the league back at a crucial stage of the EPL.
