Esther Okoronkwo: Nigeria striker part ways with Spanish club Tenerife

Nigeria forward, Esther Okoronkwo has parted ways with Spanish women’s top-flight side, Costa Adeje Tenerife.
The Spanish club confirmed her departure on their website on Tuesday after both parties reached an agreement to terminate the contract that should have seen her remain at the outfit till June 2024.
Okoronkwo was the team’s first signing ahead of the 2023/2024 season after she completed her switch from the French side, Saint Etienne.
The Super Falcons star signed a contract that bound her with the blue and white team for the rest of the season which has now been officially terminated.
During her brief stint, the Nigerian started three scoring two goals with an assist for Costa Adeje Tenerife.
Her first goal came during her debut game – first appearance of the season against Sporting de Huelva and the second goal came against Madrid CFF which was a header.
The Spanish side via the website further thanked the player for her contribution to the team during a short period.
With her departure, the team now has two players from Nigeria’s senior women’s national team; they are Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide.
