Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare will be working under a new manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers following the club’s announcement of Rob Edwards as their new head coach on Wednesday.
Edwards’ appointment comes after the sacking of former head coach Vítor Pereira, who was dismissed two weeks ago following Wolves’ disappointing 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
The 42-year-old Edwards arrives from Championship side Middlesbrough and has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League club.
Wolves have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 season, failing to secure a win in their first 12 league matches.
With just two points from those fixtures, they find themselves eight points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Arokodare, who joined Wolves from Belgian Jupiler League side KRC Genk in the summer, has struggled to make an impact in the league, with no goals or assists in his seven Premier League appearances so far.
However, the 24-year-old forward has found some success in the Carabao Cup, scoring twice.
As Wolves look to recover from a challenging season, Arokodare will hope that Edwards’ arrival signals a fresh start for the club and provides him with the opportunity to rediscover his form.
