‘Everything is possible’ – Olapade Zainab backs Bayelsa Queens to shock Rivers Angels

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Bayelsa Queens will face an uphill task going up against former champions Rivers Angels in Port Harcourt, but Zainab Olapade insists that “everything is possible”.
Two second half goals from Juliet Sunday and Mary Aderemi did the job for the Prosperity Girls who had to dig deep in the second forty-five minutes to overcome their rivals in the first leg at the Samuel Siasia Stadium last December.
The Jewel of Rivers have continued to struggle for results recently, including a 1-1 draw with Royal Queens at home – a mysterious poor run of form the defending champions will eager to compound at the University of Port Harcourt.
With a point key to their Super Six hopes, the midfielder is confident that her side can build on the positive 1-1 draw at Delta Queens as they seek to avoid a defeat on their back-to-back away duels.
“I know and trust God with my teammates. We can pick a point in Port Harcourt. With the grace of God, everything is possible. I just wish there will be good officiating.” Olapade told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“The point was very important to the entire team. Even though we target three points because they came to Yenegoa and pick up three points and our coaches and the entire team believe we can also do so. We still thank God for the point.”
The high-profile duel will headline the matchday fixtures as Rivers and Bayelsa rekindle rivalry, having won the last two titles and as well represented Nigeria at the 2021 and 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League respectively.
